Personality:
April is a gentle little soul with a kind nature and a lovely softness about her. She is a little more subdued than her littermates and can take her time getting comfortable, but there is a sweet personality waiting to emerge as she discovers more of the world. She has that endearing puppy quality where you can almost see her quietly taking everything in, figuring things out and deciding when she is ready to join the fun.
Tamariki – 5+ and dog savvy as she can be more shy around sudden movements.
Cats – Not yet assessed.
Kūri – Shy and hasn;t had much exposure. Needs ongoing socialisation which is starting while in our care.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently 6.9kgs. Likely to mautre large in size.
Ideal home:
April will thrive with a whānau who can give her the time and encouragement to grow into herself. She will need plenty of positive experiences, ongoing training and socialisation to help her become comfortable and confident in all sorts of situations. A good level of daily exercise, enrichment and opportunities to get out and about will be important too, giving her the chance to experience new places, people, dogs, sights and sounds while building her confidence along the way. With a little patience, plenty of encouragement and a loving home behind her, this gentle girl has so much potential to blossom.

The adoption fee is $450 ($350 for dogs 7+ years old), which includes:
- Vet check
- First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)
- Microchipping
- De-sexing
- Registration
- Bath
- Flea and worm treatment
- 1-month free accident cover from Pet-n-Sur
Things you need to know:
- All members of the family - including dogs - are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
- A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
- We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
- If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
