Personality:
Austen is a BIG bundle of energy, enthusiasm and pure joy, with a nose that is always on a mission! This boy loves exploring his surroundings, sniffing out every interesting smell and investigating anything that catches his attention. No corner goes unexplored when Austen is on the job! He's also a tug of war enthusiast who loves getting you involved in his games, and he's happiest when he has something fun to do and someone to share the excitement with. Life with Austen will certainly keep you moving, and there will never be a dull moment with this curious, playful boy around.
Tamariki – 15+ as he is a big boy and will need to learn some manners and boundaries.
Cats – Not yet assessed.
Kūri – Very rude/boisterous. Needs to learn a more appropriate approach.
Stock/poultry – No stock/poulty.
Size – Currently 18.6kgs and is going to be XL in size.
Ideal home:
With that size and enthusiasm comes a little work to do! Austen would thrive in an active, experienced home that can give him plenty of physical activity, mental stimulation and guidance. He's still learning his manners and how to navigate interactions with other dogs appropriately. At the moment, he's very much an all go, no woah kind of boy, but he's got plenty of potential to learn! We'll be working on his manners here at the adoption centre, and his future whānau will need to be committed to continuing his training and socialisation. With consistency, patience and clear boundaries, Austen can learn to channel all that wonderful energy and become the best version of himself.
Ready for a four legged adventure buddy who will keep you on your toes and fill your days with fun? Austen is waiting to sniff out his forever home, and it could be yours!
