Personality:
Bert is the ultimate potato baby! He is a very sweet, gentle little guy who is happiest when he is playing with his toys or snuggled up in your lap. Bert is a bit of a ragdoll in a puppy's body — he does pretty much everything in slow motion and is wonderfully easy-going. He doesn't have a huge personality just yet, but that's part of his charm! Bert is incredibly mouldable and will thrive with someone who can help him discover the big wide world at his own pace. He would benefit from plenty of positive socialisation and new experiences to help build his confidence and let his personality blossom.
Tamariki – Any age, dog-savvy children.
Cats – Okay with cats but can be a little fearful.
Kūri – Fine with other dogs with correct introductions.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Puppy, expected to grow.
Ideal home:
Bert would fit beautifully into just about any loving whare. He is a gentle, sweet and very adaptable puppy who is looking for someone to help him learn all about being a big dog in the world. His new family should be prepared to give him plenty of positive socialisation, new experiences and gentle encouragement as he grows in confidence. Puppy classes and continued training would be a great way to help him develop his skills and discover his personality. In return, you'll have the world's sweetest little potato who is more than happy to spend his days playing with his toys before melting into your lap for a cuddle.

The adoption fee is $450 ($350 for dogs 7+ years old), which includes:
- Vet check
- First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)
- Microchipping
- De-sexing
- Registration
- Bath
- Flea and worm treatment
- 1-month free accident cover from Pet-n-Sur
Things you need to know:
- All members of the family - including dogs - are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
- A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
- We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
- If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
