Personality:
Ernie is a happy, cheeky little boy who has absolutely stolen the personality away from all his siblings! He is a total potato puppy who is just happy to be wherever the people are. Ernie loves interacting with anyone and everyone and is more than happy to be handled, cuddled and fussed over. He doesn't have big reactions to much and takes things in his stride, making him a lovely, easy-going pup. Like any puppy, he is still learning about the big wide world and will need plenty of positive life experiences to help him grow into the confident adult dog we know he can be.
Tamariki – Dog-savvy kids.
Cats – Fine with cats.
Kūri – Fine with other dogs with correct introductions.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Puppy, expected to grow.
Ideal home:
Ernie would be well suited to just about any loving whare that is ready for the fun and commitment that comes with raising a puppy. He is a wonderfully easy-going boy who would thrive with people who can give him plenty of positive life experiences, continued puppy socialisation and the opportunity to attend training classes. Building his confidence, teaching him his manners and exposing him to lots of different people, places and experiences will help set him up for success as he grows. He would love a home that will include him in their adventures, give him plenty of cuddles and let his cheeky personality shine.
This little potato has plenty of growing to do, but he's already stolen our hearts — now he's just waiting to steal yours! ❤️

The adoption fee is $450 ($350 for dogs 7+ years old), which includes:
- Vet check
- First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)
- Microchipping
- De-sexing
- Registration
- Bath
- Flea and worm treatment
- 1-month free accident cover from Pet-n-Sur
Things you need to know:
- All members of the family - including dogs - are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
- A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
- We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
- If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
