Personality:
February is proof that growing up does not mean growing out of your puppy era! This playful, energetic boy has a serious love affair with tennis balls of every size and is always ready for a game. He also adores his people and turns into the ultimate Velcro dog when the cuddles start. Out on walks, he is much more independent, happily ignoring passersby while he gets busy exploring every interesting smell. And of course, being a true bulldog boy, every few steps is apparently the perfect opportunity to cock that leg and leave his mark!
Tamariki – 10+ as he needs good boundaries and consistency.
Cats - Didn't seem interested in shelter cats. Should be ok with slow intros and training.
Kūri – Friendly but boisterous. Slow intros and training needed.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently 21.2kgs and is fully grown but slightly underweight.
Ideal home:
February is looking for a home with previous bulldog experience and people who understand that this breed can come with some extra health considerations. His droopy eyelids, elongated soft palate and small nostrils (due to his breed) may put him at risk of ongoing issues in the future. We strongly recommend chatting with your vet before adopting to understand what this could mean for his ongoing care.
He absolutely loves other dogs, although his enthusiasm can sometimes be a little too much! He will need continued guidance around polite greetings, personal space and learning that not every dog wants a bestie quite as enthusiastically as he does. With the right boundaries, ongoing training and plenty of positive outlets, he will be a wonderful companion.

The adoption fee is $450 ($350 for dogs 7+ years old), which includes:
- Vet check
- First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)
- Microchipping
- De-sexing
- Registration
- Bath
- Flea and worm treatment
- 1-month free accident cover from Pet-n-Sur
Things you need to know:
- All members of the family - including dogs - are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
- A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
- We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
- If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
