Personality:
Flanders is an active, playful and incredibly clever boy who is just downright delicious! He loves his plush toys and can often be found proudly carrying one around, adding plenty of adorable charm to his day. While he has a fun and playful side waiting to burst out, Flanders is still quite shy and has had very little exposure to the big wide world. Positive interactions help him find his courage, and with gentle encouragement, you can already see little glimpses of the confident boy he will grow into.
Tamariki – 10+ and dog savvy while he grows in confidence.
Cats – Not yet assessed.
Kūri – Afraid. Gentle socialisation needed.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently 4.5kgs. Likely to mature small to medium in size.
Ideal home:
Flanders will need a confident and patient owner who can show him just how good life can be. A quieter, calm home would suit him best, with plenty of positive experiences, confidence building and ongoing socialisation to help him feel safe as he discovers the world. He has not had much experience with other dogs and can be fearful, so a home without other dogs or with a gentle, older dog would be preferred. Give this sweet boy the training, socialisation and love he needs, and we just know you will get to watch him glow up into the superstar he is meant to be!

The adoption fee is $450 ($350 for dogs 7+ years old), which includes:
- Vet check
- First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)
- Microchipping
- De-sexing
- Registration
- Bath
- Flea and worm treatment
- 1-month free accident cover from Pet-n-Sur
Things you need to know:
- All members of the family - including dogs - are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
- A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
- We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
- If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
