Personality:
Sweet, curious and full of gentle charm, Janet loves exploring her surroundings and discovering new things. She is generally comfortable in new environments and is happy pottering about and investigating things at her own pace. Give her a rope toy and she is more than happy to entertain herself, although she is just as happy sharing playtime with her people. Janet is gentle and respectful when playing and, while sudden movements can sometimes make her a little fearful, she genuinely wants to please, give love and be loved.
Tamariki – 10+ while she builds her confidence.
Cats – Confident cats preferred with slow intros and training.
Kūri – Friendly. Needs ongoing socialisation.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently 11.4kgs. Likely to mature large in size.
Ideal home:
Janet is looking for a kind and caring whānau who will cherish her for all her days. She is still a pup, so ongoing training, positive socialisation and consistent boundaries will help her continue building confidence and cementing those good manners. A home with someone who understands the Shar Pei breed would be a bonus, as they have some breed specific needs and health considerations to be mindful of. With patience, aroha and a little guidance, Janet has all the makings of a very special companion.

The adoption fee is $450 ($350 for dogs 7+ years old), which includes:
- Vet check
- First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)
- Microchipping
- De-sexing
- Registration
- Bath
- Flea and worm treatment
- 1-month free accident cover from Pet-n-Sur
Things you need to know:
- All members of the family - including dogs - are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
- A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
- We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
- If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
