Personality:

Manukau is a shy young lad who is still discovering what this big, wide world is all about. New places, new people and new experiences can feel a little overwhelming at first, so he needs time to take everything in at his own pace. But give him a little patience and kindness, and you'll start to see his lovely personality shine through. Once he begins to trust you, his confidence grows and out comes a playful boy who discovers that toys are actually pretty wonderful! Watching him find his feet and learn that the world isn't such a scary place will be a very special journey for the person lucky enough to call him theirs.

Tamariki – No children at this time while he builds confidence.
Cats – Ok with cats with slow intros and training.

Kūri – Shy but would love a gentle doggy sibling.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently 5kgs. Likely to mature large in size.

Ideal home:

Manukau is looking for an experienced owner who understands that confidence takes time and is willing to help him build it gently. He'll need careful introductions to new experiences, ongoing training and thoughtful socialisation, with plenty of encouragement along the way. For now, we're looking for an adult only home where he can feel safe and comfortable without the extra activity that children can bring. A well suited canine companion could help him learn and grow, although he'll need time to build trust with other dogs too, so thoughtful introductions and patience will be important. Manukau may not be the sort of boy who rushes up to greet the world, but with the right support, we expect to see his confidence continue to blossom.
