Personality:
Maple is a big, goofy girl with an even bigger heart! This playful Mastiff cross is a total snuggle bug who loves nothing more than spending time with her people, playing with her favourite toys and getting plenty of attention. Maple is a lovely, affectionate girl who can be wonderfully silly and will keep you smiling with her goofy personality.
Despite her size, Maple is a clever girl who listens well and already knows some basic commands, including sit. She is eager to please and will be a lot of fun to continue training with. Maple enjoys the company of other dogs, although she can get a little carried away and will need to continue working on her doggy manners and learning how to play appropriately.
As a large and powerful breed, Maple is looking for a home with someone who has experience with big dogs and understands the importance of ongoing training, boundaries and providing her with plenty of positive outlets for her energy.
Tamariki – Dog-savvy children aged 10+ due to Maple's size.
Cats – Untested.
Kūri – Good with other dogs; can be playful and needs to continue learning appropriate manners.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Large breed.
Ideal home:
Maple would love a home with someone who appreciates the joys — and responsibilities — that come with having a big dog! Her new family should ideally have previous experience with large breeds and be committed to continuing her training as she grows and develops. She'll benefit from plenty of exercise, enrichment, playtime and positive reinforcement to help keep her clever mind and playful personality busy.
Maple would enjoy having a compatible canine companion, provided introductions are done carefully and her new family is prepared to help her learn polite play. She would suit a home with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to interact appropriately with a large dog.
Most importantly, Maple is looking for a family who doesn't mind having a giant goofball taking up space on the couch! Beneath all that size is a sweet, affectionate snuggle bug who loves her toys, loves her people and is ready to find a family of her own. 🐾❤️

The adoption fee is $450 ($350 for dogs 7+ years old), which includes:
- Vet check
- First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)
- Microchipping
- De-sexing
- Registration
- Bath
- Flea and worm treatment
- 1-month free accident cover from Pet-n-Sur
Things you need to know:
- All members of the family - including dogs - are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
- A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
- We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
- If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
