Personality:
May is a sweet, shy girl with the gentlest nature and a heart full of love. She can be a little unsure in new situations, but she really wants to please and is learning that the world is a wonderful place. Her adorable obsession with toys is impossible not to love, and between gentle playtime and those heart melting looks she gives you, May has a very special way of stealing your heart.
Tamariki – 10+ while she builds confidence.
Cats – Not yet assessed.
Kūri – Friendly. Needs ongoing socialisation due to age.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently 10.6kgs. likely to mature large in size.
Ideal home:
May is looking for an active whānau who will give her plenty of mental stimulation, encouragement and opportunities to learn. She will need a patient home that understands confidence takes time and will let her experience new things at her own pace, while gently encouraging her to be brave. Puppy school, ongoing positive reinforcement training and plenty of enrichment will be great for her, along with regular outings and slow, steady exposure to different people, dogs, places, sounds and experiences. With the right support, consistency and lots of encouragement, we know this sweet girl will continue to blossom and become a wonderful companion.

The adoption fee is $450 ($350 for dogs 7+ years old), which includes:
- Vet check
- First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)
- Microchipping
- De-sexing
- Registration
- Bath
- Flea and worm treatment
- 1-month free accident cover from Pet-n-Sur
Things you need to know:
- All members of the family - including dogs - are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
- A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
- We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
- If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
