About Michaela Blyde

  • Border Collie, Cross
  • Female
  • 1 year and 2 months
  • Can live with other dogs
  • Can live with cats
  • Pukekohe Adoption and Education Centre

Personality:

Michaela Blyde wants to love with every fibre of her being, she just does not have many positive experiences or much confidence to fall back on yet. She is a soft, sensitive girl who shows lots of sweet appeasement and sooky behaviours that are both incredibly endearing and a gentle reminder that the world still feels a little overwhelming for her at times. Despite this, Michaela is trying so hard. Beneath the uncertainty is a beautiful dog who wants connection, reassurance and someone to help her discover that life can be safe, fun, and full of good things. We have no doubt that with time and support, she will grow into the shining star of someone’s household.

Tamariki – No kids. She needs gentle but steady encouragement.
Cats – Confident cats ok.

Kūri – Interested but shy. More socialisation is needed.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently 18.3kgs and is fully grown.

Ideal home:

We are looking for a thoughtful, experienced home for Michaela, someone who can support her confidence building journey without wrapping her in cotton wool or shielding her from the world entirely. She needs gentle guidance, patience, and encouragement to explore new experiences at her own pace while continuing to learn that she is capable and safe. Ongoing training, positive socialisation, enrichment and calm leadership will all help this lovely girl continue blossoming into the dog she is meant to be.

A soft hearted girl taking life one gentle step at a time, slowly learning that good people, warm beds and love were always meant for her 💛
