Nellie

Personality:

Nellie is a happy, playful girl with a whole lot of love to give! She absolutely adores attention and is never shy about showing you just how happy she is with her full-body wiggles. Nellie already has some fantastic foundations under her belt — she is toilet trained, knows how to sit, and will happily go to her bed when asked. She loves having a job to do and is a clever girl who will be a lot of fun to continue training.

Nellie also loves playing with other dogs and is always ready for a good romp! She can be a little enthusiastic and occasionally a bit rude in her play style, but it's all coming from a place of wanting to have fun. She will benefit from continued guidance around appropriate play and learning when it's time to settle.

While Nellie is generally a happy and affectionate girl, she can be a little fearful at times, particularly if she feels like she is being told off. Her new family will need to use positive, reward-based training and help her understand that making mistakes is okay. With patience, consistency and plenty of encouragement, Nellie should continue to grow in confidence and blossom into a wonderful companion.

Cats – Not suitable to live with cats.

Kūri – Loves playing with other dogs; correct introductions required. Can be a little enthusiastic/rude in her play.

Ideal home:

Nellie would love a family who wants an affectionate, playful companion and is prepared to continue building on the great foundations she already has. She would suit an active home where she can enjoy plenty of play, walks, training and quality time with her people. Her new family should be confident using positive reinforcement and understand that Nellie may need some extra patience and encouragement when she is feeling unsure or worried about being told off.

A home with older, dog-savvy children would be a lovely fit for her, and another compatible dog could be a great friend for Nellie with the right introduction. She'll need a home without cats and a family who can help her learn that the world is a safe and fun place.

In return, you'll get a wonderfully affectionate girl who is always ready with a full-body wiggle, a game of chase and plenty of love. Nellie has already got the fundamentals down, now she's just looking for someone to help her confidence grow and show her how wonderful life can be. 💕🐾
