Personality:
Vasey is a playful, loving boy who absolutely melts for affection. Even the gentlest touch is enough to have him leaning in for more, and he has a beautiful softness about him once he feels safe and connected. He is looking for someone he can truly bond with and love unconditionally, giving his whole heart to his person.
Tamariki – Any age providing proper introductions and supervision.
Cats – Not yet assessed.
Kūri – Friendly but shy. Ongoing socialisation needed.
Stock/poultry – Seems uninterested in chickens. Untested with stock.
Size – Currently 10.2kgs. Likely to mature medium to kearge in size.
Ideal home:
Vasey will thrive with a patient home that can continue building his confidence through positive training, socialisation and plenty of encouragement. He can be a little shy around other dogs, so a respectful, calm older dog would be the best match for him. Give him time, consistency and a safe place to grow, and you’ll see this sweet boy blossom into the loving companion he is waiting to be.

The adoption fee is $450 ($350 for dogs 7+ years old), which includes:
- Vet check
- First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)
- Microchipping
- De-sexing
- Registration
- Bath
- Flea and worm treatment
- 1-month free accident cover from Pet-n-Sur
Things you need to know:
- All members of the family - including dogs - are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
- A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
- We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
- If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
