Bring your whānau and join Restore Hibiscus & Bays and Te Herenga Waka o Orewa for a special Matariki planting day!
Together we’ll be planting native plants to help restore the marae grounds, riverbank and awa, continuing the regular restoration mahi already underway at this special site.
Matariki is a time to remember the past, celebrate the present and look to the future. This community planting day is a chance to come together, care for the whenua and help create a healthier, more resilient environment for future generations.
Everyone is welcome and no experience is needed. Tools and guidance will be provided, along with morning tea and hot drinks.
On the day there will also a fantastic opportunity to learn more about water monitoring of the awa.

- water bottle
- snacks
- sturdy shoes or boots
- clothing suitable for the weather
