Celebrate Matariki with Whaea Deidre and learn how to make poi from recycled materials.

Join us for some island creativity and create your own ribbon lei to take home, beginner friendly and fun!

Worm-Farming for Matariki | Thursday 9 July, 10.30am - 11.30am
Join Laura from Compost Collective for a fun, hands-on worm farming workshop for kids and whānau.
Children will meet tiger worms and learn how they turn food scraps into fertiliser, while also learning about Matariki and traditional gardening practices connected to the season.

Matariki Candle-Making | Saturday 11 July, 10am - 12pm
Learn how to make your own candle with Fayora Candles. Dedicate it to a loved one or make a wish for your future and have fun meeting new friends.
The two-hour session includes making the candle from start to finish with a brief 45 minute break in between to allow the candle to cure. Participants will learn about the candle making process and the materials used.

Elastic Catapult Workshop | Friday 17 July, 10am - 11.30am
Get ready to launch your creativity sky high with some fun elastic catapult building!
Design, build and test elastic-powered catapults using simple materials. Explore how elasticity and deflection affect force, distance and projectile motion and even compete in a fun 'Flying Pom Poms' pyramid cup challenge.
