Connect to nature at night
Join Auckland Council Park Rangers and Restore Hibiscus and Bays for a guided evening adventure through the ngahere (forest). As the sun sets, the reserve comes alive with the sights and sounds of the night.
Learn about nocturnal wildlife, and look for native birds, insects and fish. Experience nature in a whole new light - or rather, moonlight.
What to bring:
- warm clothes
- sturdy shoes
- red light torch/headlamp (red cellophane)
- and curiosity!
Free event all ages welcome.
Please note: The walk takes place at night and includes stairs and uneven surfaces, so it's not suitable for pushchairs or very young children. A moderate level of fitness and good balance are recommended. No dogs.
