Join us in learning te ao Māori approach to restoration!
Our Hands-on Ecology Workshop series is designed for community restoration groups and anyone keen to learn about restoration ecology through a te ao Māori lens. A 3-hour session offers practical skills for restoring private and public spaces and may include up to 2 hours of walking - please dress appropriately and bring water/snacks.
This session covers:
- Cultural footprint of spaces, awareness of living spaces and how we connect to them
- Kauri habitat protection
- Identifying restoration opportunities in urban reserves
- Using iNaturalist for data recording and plant ID
- Birds and plant identification
- Decision-making in restoration practices.
Registration is essential as participant numbers are limited for health and safety reasons.
