Join us in learning te ao Māori approach to restoration!
Our Hands-on Ecology Workshop series is designed for community restoration groups and anyone keen to learn about restoration ecology through a te ao Māori lens. A 3-hour session offers practical skills for restoring private and public spaces and may include up to 2 hours of walking - please dress appropriately and bring water/snacks.
This session covers:
- Examining and working with oneone (soils) within the Kaipātiki area
- Soil structure & dealing with slips and restoration on shifting ground
- Plants that grow and support soils
- Micro and macro soil diversity and when to and when not to move them.
Registration is essential as participant numbers are limited for health and safety reasons.
