Join us in learning te ao Māori approach to restoration!

Our hands-on ecology workshop series is designed for community restoration groups and anyone keen to learn about restoration ecology through a te ao Māori lens. A 3-hour session offers practical skills for restoring private and public spaces and may include up to 2 hours of walking - please dress appropriately and bring water/snacks.

This session covers:

  • Whenua and the significance of Kaipātiki (eg. Kauri podzols)
  • Site identification - recognising what defines the changes in ecology types across a defined site
  • Threatened ecosystems and endangered taonga species
  • Kauri whānau
  • Leaf litter and ground dwellers.

Registration is essential as participant numbers are limited for health and safety reasons.
