Nippon Clippons – Made in New Zealand showcases photographs by Birkenhead resident Bowden Hamilton, who witnessed the construction of the original Auckland Harbour Bridge and its later clip-on additions from his childhood home.
Using his Asahi Pentax SLR camera, Bowden captured detailed close-up images that document the engineering and construction of one of Auckland’s most iconic landmarks. This Auckland Heritage Festival exhibition offers a unique perspective on a pivotal chapter in the city’s history.
