Tamariki from Ōrewa Beach and Torbay kindergartens will join children from seven countries in the Voices of Children Pedagogy™ International Gallery New Zealand 2026 at Estuary Arts Centre, Ōrewa, from 28 October to 21 November 2026.
The exhibition shares artwork, stories and ideas from children aged four to six, exploring the themes of people, place and planet.
The local contribution, He Taonga te Wai – Water is Precious, explores children’s understanding of water care and their shared responsibility for the environment.
“Children live in the world now, notice what is happening and have ideas that deserve to be heard,” says Tara Solomon, Chief Executive of Kaitiaki Kindergartens. “Water is Precious connects local action with children’s voices around the world.”
The exhibition reflects Kaitiaki Kindergartens’ commitment to recognising tamariki as capable learners and kaitiaki. Its Enviroschools approach to planetary health education has also been selected for the HundrED Global Collection 2027.
Whānau, educators and the wider community are invited to experience how children’s ideas can inspire meaningful change.
