O-W Line: Newmarket to New Lynn
Start in Newmarket, where boutique-lined laneways, stylish cafés and shopping set the tone. Hungry? Newmarket’s many food outlets serve up everything from artisan treats to global flavours.
Hop on a train at Newmarket Station, after finding your best option on either the O-W or S-C line, and hop off at Grafton Station.
A short walk away, explore the leafy Auckland Domain, home to the Auckland War Memorial Museum and Wintergarden glasshouses. It's one of the city's finest combinations of nature, culture and history.
Hop back on the train again at Grafton Station and head to the new Maungawhau Station, where striking art and architecture inspired by te ao Māori (the Māori world) transform this train station into a ‘wow’ destination. Scan QR codes to uncover the stories behind the art.
On Sundays, explore the Maungawhau Market for good food, local produce, crafts and a friendly community atmosphere, right by the station.
On to Kingsland Station, a vibrant village known for its eclectic shops, cafés and relaxed neighbourhood charm. Finish at New Lynn Station, where bold contemporary architecture, public art and innovative urban design showcase Auckland's creativity. Top spots: Te Toi Uku clay museum and Olympic Park.
Mix up the journey home and discover somewhere new along the way.
