Let's take care of Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland's environment together.

1. Prepare

  • Remove grass or mow low.

  • Cut and lift turf (save it for compost).

  • Add compost or well-rotted manure.

  • Loosen the soil with a fork and water the area.

  • Dig wide holes (twice the size of the pot)

2. Plant

Winter is the best time to plant, when the soil will be wet

How to plant:

  • Gently remove the plant from the pot.

  • Loosen the roots if root-bound.

  • Plant to the same soil depth as the pot.

  • Firm soil gently, water thoroughly.

3. Care

  • Remove weeds and grass around it.

  • Check overall plant health.

  • Only water in hot, dry spells during the first year of establishment – once a week max.

  • Water deeply rather than often
