Auckland Council encourages voters in the Papatoetoe election to join the more than 3000 in their community who have already voted and add their own voices to the mix.
At almost halfway through the voting period for the Papatoetoe election, voting returns are sitting at 3,375 or 9.57% of the possible voting total.
“Voting is a great way to have your say in the future of your community – Papatoetoe people, please vote now – for the people you believe will do the best job of representing your interests and concerns,” says Lou-Ann Ballantyne, General Manager of Governance and Engagement at Auckland Council.
She emphasises the opportunity that these elections provide.
“This is an important election for Papatoetoe, and we urge all candidates and parties to support a positive election for the people and future prosperity of Papatoetoe.
“Papatoetoe locals can help out by checking their letterboxes, encourage friends and family in the area to vote, and report any unusual behaviour to the electoral officer at info@electionservices.co.nz or call 0800 922 822, or the Police by calling 105," adds Ms Ballantyne.
Voters should open their orange voting envelopes, select up to four candidates that best represent their community and return completed votes using an orange vote box or any NZ Post box.
Anyone who has not received their voting papers should contact the Electoral Office at info@electionservices.co.nz or call 0800 922 822. The Electoral Office can confirm voter eligibility and explain how to cast a special vote.
Voting in the Papatoetoe election closes at midday on Thursday 9 April 2026. Final results will be announced on Friday 10 April 2026.
